Your images stay on your device

Every step — reading the file, cropping, adjusting, drawing the grid, exporting PNG/JPG, writing the PDF and preparing the print view — runs in your browser using the HTML canvas. The image data is never sent to our servers or to anyone else. When you close or reload the page, the image is gone unless you saved it as a project (see below).

What is stored in your browser

Preferences are kept in localStorage so the tool opens the way you left it: grid mode, columns and rows, line colour (only if you chose one), opacity, line width, labels, diagonals, measurement unit, paper size and orientation, and the print options. No image is stored this way. “Reset settings” in the tool clears these values. Nothing is stored if your browser blocks local storage; the tool still works.

Saved projects exist only if you click Save in the Saved projects dialog. A project is written to your browser’s IndexedDB on this device and contains the original photo file, its file name, a small thumbnail and your settings (crop, rotation, adjustments, grid, style and target size). Nothing is uploaded. You can delete a project, or all projects, from the same dialog; clearing the site’s data in your browser removes them too. On a shared computer, use “Delete all” when you are done.

Settings links (“Copy settings link”) put your grid settings in the link’s fragment so you can reuse them on another device. The link never contains the image.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and a handful of feature events (for example “image loaded”, “export generated”, “print opened”) so we know what to improve. These events contain only categories and rounded numbers — such as the image format and a megapixel range — never the image, its file name, a project name or any text you enter. To tell first visits from return visits, a visit counter is kept in your browser's local storage; it holds only a number and never leaves your device except as a coarse range (“1”, “2”, “3–5”, “6+”) attached to those events. Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies and does not track you across sites; visitors are counted with a short-lived hash that cannot be reversed into an identity.

No accounts, no advertising

There is no account system and no advertising on the site today. If either is introduced, this page will describe exactly what changes before it goes live.
